About Julia...
Music has always been present in Julia’s life. As long as she can remember, a song seemed to accompany her. It was like God had this musical soundtrack with Julia’s name on it. Music has been a close friend who keeps feeding her the good, the true, and the beautiful.
At the center of Julia’s musical world there has always been a deeper inspirational energy. It wasn’t until she emerged from her teenage years that she could put a name on it – “authenticity.” One doesn’t need to spend more than a few minutes with Julia and you sense this energy and presence that can only be called authenticity. Julia is genuine. What you see and what you hear is what you get. No pretense. She has always had a motto or life directive and that has been to be real. Be the person you felt you needed from others when you were growing up. Live the life that inspires you and other’s deepest longings.
Julia had paid her dues in local clubs in Memphis like the famous Lafayettes and even tried out for The Voice. Much of her love of performing has come from leading worship at her church. As a pre-teen Julia got into her church’s children’s choir and later joined the worship team singing and playing guitar.
While pondering a career in music, Julia decided to go after a degree in worship leading which of course lead her to Visible Music College in Memphis which was not too far from her home in Arkansas.
A person of deep faith as a well as a lover of music, Julia has recently seen these worlds merge and a sort of reckoning take place. She is experiencing unprecedented direction and leading as her career and calling become one. So when asked about who she is as a performer or a worship leader or a songwriter, Julia’s consistent response is that she ultimately desires to be “the encourager.” That transparent friend who sees herself as that girl next door saying, “If I can do it so can you.”
And so we now see Julia Goff stepping into a full-fledged life of artistry and ministry, creativity, and encouragement. A few minutes into Julia’s set and even the casual observer looks up from their meal if at a club or ponders the intensity of her presence in worship or praise setting and comes to the same conclusion... Julia Goff is on a mission and is loving every minute of the journey. And the joy she exudes is the gratitude being made tangible as her life is committed to “paying it forward.”
